History of Aspen Gardens

Aspen Gardens is a post-war housing estate in Hammersmith, W6, built for returning soldiers and opened in 1948 by Aneurin Bevan. The estate consists of 131 flats across three blocks, designed in a typical modern style with features like canted bays and multi-paned windows. Before the estate was built, the site was occupied by a 1913 garage belonging to the London General Omnibus Company, which had been redeveloped from an earlier site at Bradmore House.
